Life-defining experiences and education outside the classroom

  The curriculum provides students with the opportunity to develop all their intelligences – analytical, practical, creative and emotional – which strengthen each other, leading to well-balanced, perceptive individuals. We integrate experiences on the sports field, on field trips , and in musical and dramatic performances together with classroom learning. At Orchlon, we emphasize the importance of both curricular and extra-curricular components of students’ education. Orchlon school S tudent Council actively participates in organizing such activities at the school as well as community service activities through Orchlon Interact Club.
There are many activities that have become traditions at Orchlon school and which both students and teachers eagerly await and participate in. These are:

• Sports competitions held in September of each year.
• Life Skills training organized in outdoor camp in October that is offered with the help of professional outdoor education organizations, providing students challenging and fun training.
• English, Mathematics, Chinese, Mongolian and Social Science Olympiads and monthly projects.
• “Orchlon-Pentatonic” Performing Art, Music and Dance Festival held in November.
• Mongolian Traditional Costume Day held twice a year.
• Presentation and debate contests held in December.
• ABC and Mongolian Alphabet Celebrations held in January.
• Mixed- team basketball competitions in which students team up with their teachers, as well as Student-teacher Day held in January and February to celebrate Mongolian Teacher’s Day.
• Swimming, Fashion Designer and Fashion Model competitions and shows held in the Spring.
• “Melodic Orchlon-Universe” poet’s contest held in February each year which has a first edition of a book comprising student poems.
• Chinese language celebration held in February.
• ”Knowledge is Power” Science contest in English held in March.
• Knowledge Day - “Knowledge Fair” held in May each year.

Apart from the above all-year planned activities and events, Orchlon students can select from a wide range of extra-curricular courses offered by talented teachers at Orchlon:
